Why We Fundraise at Community Nurse & Hospice Care
This past fiscal year, Community Nurse & Hospice Care's nurses, therapists, home health aides and volunteers provided nearly 59,000 visits to over 5,300 grateful patients requiring hospice care or health assistance. Your support made this possible!
You obviously recognize the vital role health care plays in our community. The active step you take to support it reaffirms your commitment to those recovering from surgery, facing a serious illness or who need assistance caring for a chronically ill loved one.
Your gift allows Community Nurse & Hospice Care to go above and beyond the basic care covered by insurance. Together, we offer the community the programs, the education, the equipment, the resources, the services and the innovations that truly address their needs while allowing them to remain in the comfort and privacy of home.
As always, Community Nurse & Hospice Care patients are not asked to pay out of pocket for their care. For patients lacking Medicare, Medicaid or insurance coverage, services are provided through a special "free care" fund. Incremental services are available through our Private Care subsidiary for a fee.
Because of you, our community will always have access to comprehensive, quality and compassionate health care no matter their financial resources. Because of your support, the health of our community will only continue to improve as we exceed expectations of care received at home.

Memorial Gifts
Community Nurse & Hospice Care is dependent on donations to support our hospice program. As you may imagine, terminal illness is challenging to both patients and their families. Our agency is committed to not only providing medical care, comfort and dignity to patients, but also to offsetting the financial burden that families may endure.
Our goal is for no patient to be left without needed care because of insurance or financial constraints. We are grateful to concerned community members that encourage family and friends to make a gift to our agency in memory of their loved one.

Memorial Brick Walkway
Our garden is coming along! In 2004 we began building a Memorial Garden at our main office at 62 Center Street in Fairhaven. Donors who contribute $500 or more to CNHC will receive a brick in our Memorial Garden. Bricks can be given in honor of or in memory of a loved one, to pay tribute to our agency or a staff member, for a company or civic group or yourself.
This program allows us to recognize from 1997 forward, friends of CNHC who generously contributed $500 or more to the agency. Contributions help to offset care that insurers do not cover and enable us to maintain the high standards we committed to 88 years ago. We are confident that the Brick Walkway in our Memorial Garden will provide donors with lifetime gift option of honor.
