To My Dad’s Nursing Team, I don’t even know where to begin to thank you for everything you did for my dad Antonio and for our family. Losing my dad has been one of the hardest things I have ever had to go through. Thank you for taking care of my dad with such kindness, patience, and compassion. Thank you for keeping him comfortable, talking to him, listening to him, and treating him with dignity when he needed it most. Those things may have felt like part of your job, but to our family, they meant so much more. You cared for my dad during some of the most vulnerable moments of his life, and you also cared for the people who loved him. Every update, every kind word, every gentle touch, and every moment you spent making sure he was okay will stay with us. My dad was so much more than a patient. He was a father, a grandfather, a husband, a friend, and someone who was deeply loved. Thank you for seeing the person behind the patient and for giving him the care and compassion he deserved. I want to specifically thank Julie, RN. She has been with us for roughly 3 years. Anything we needed, she was only a phone call away and was on top of everything for the needs of my dad. Next, I want to thank Donna, PT. My dad loved her and her energy. She always made my dad comfortable and willing to do physical therapy. Please know that I will never forget you or the care you gave my dad. Lastly, I want to thank Sandy D, RN for helping him through his final days. Thank you for giving him comfort. And most of all, thank you for being there when our family needed you most. You were above and beyond and we appreciated you so much. I hope you know that the work you all do matters. You became part of my dad’s story, and because of that, you will always hold a special place in my heart.” - With all my love and gratitude, Cristina and our family
